You will awaken to spectacular sunrises over Mount Rinjani on the neighboring island of Lombok. During the day you can laze in the pool, gazing out to the distant horizon. The waters only disturbed by the occasional dolphin, flying fish or fishing boat.
In the evening you can dine in our restaurant as the sun sets behind mount Agung and Tulamben, casting amazing sunset skies over the sea. After darkness falls, the skies are again amazing. The villas are built to the highest standards by local craftspeople using as much local materials as possible. We try to be eco-friendly; using solar power for our hot water, recycling our rubbish and using organic produce whenever possible. The interior design is simple, elegant, light and bright. We used the finest cotton and hand-woven fabrics for our bed linen and soft furnishings. The finest muslins for our mosquito nets. The location is stunning and we have steps down to the beach which is not far below us.
The restaurant at Blue Moon Villas is called Komang John Cafe. Like Komang John himself, our restaurant is stylish, relaxed and informal. Here you may dine on fresh local food as you take in the spectacular views. The Menu offers authentic, delicious Balinese cuisine and western foods including a tasty vegetarian selection.
The Hotel Vila Lumbung is a small exotic village surrounded by masterly designed tropical gardens of approximately 12.000 square meters. The special shape of the grass-roof villas is derived from the typical Balinese “Lumbung”. The upper part of this center hut of each family compound serves as a rice barn, while the lower floor - an elevated lounging area (”Bale”) - is used as a meeting place.
We transformed this concept into a unique design of our guest rooms. While the dome shaped grass rooftop of the upper floors conveys a spacious and tropical feeling, the ground floor’s Bale is made into a cozy retreat next to the garden. The lobby, restaurant and shopping area are designed to follow the “Lumbung”-concept.
The garden and rooftop rooms have all cozy and comfortable elevated lounging areas and terraces for private breakfast or dining.
